10 BASIC SECURITY RECOMMENDATIONS
- Change your passwords and codes periodically, particularly when you suspect that they are known by others.
- Use codes that are not easy to deduce, or related to your family environment (dates, names, birthdays,,,). We recommend that you alternate the use of letters and numbers.
- Your codes are secret and nobody else must know them (not even Banco de Valencia). Do not reveal them to others or make note of them in an easily accessible place.Banco de Valencia will not request these by telephone, electronic mail or by any other means other than BV Broker or Banco de Valencia Internet.
- Never access Banco de Valencia Internet or BV Broker from e-mail links. Always type the address www.bancodevalencia.es in your web browser and check that, on accessing Electronic Banking, the address starts with "https" and that the security lock appears at the bottom of the web browser.
- We recommend that you do not open electronic messages or attached files from unknown senders.
- Safeguard your code card. It is personal and non-transferable. Always keep it in a safe place.Remember that you will need it to access Banco de Valencia Internet and BV Line, our telephone banking service.
- Deactivate all the functions that allow your computer to store passwords, particularly if you share your computer with other users:We recommend that you empty your web browser's cache regularly. Avoid accessing Internet Banking services from public places as much as possible.
- Update your web browser and operating system periodically by installing the latest available versions.In order to obtain the adequate security characteristics, we recommend using Internet Explorer version 6 or higher.
- Install an updated antivirus and personal firewall system. It is also advisable to install an anti-spy system to avoid spy programmes and unwanted publicity.
- Keep yourself informed on general Internet security.
